Lot of people think sharing personal goals with friends will make you accountable for executing it for the risk of appearing as a failure, but repeated psychological research have shown that telling someone your personal goals make it less likely to happen. Ideally, you work hard on your goals to achieve it and you don’t get the satisfaction until you achieve it. But when you tell your goals and people acknowledge it, your mind is tricked into thinking that it is already done. So your mind stops taking the effort it takes to do the actual work to achieve your goals.
